I fell in love with this jacket the moment I saw it. I love traditional Ukrainian clothing and this jacket is definitely inspired by that. The colors, the embroidery, the sleeves... the detail is amazing.

This is another thing I've pulled from the depths of my closet. I was styling a shoot and I pulled this to use for the model but I was immediately inspired to start wearing it again. I love a classic tweed jacket. The color isn't something I would normally pick up for myself which is probably why I love it so much. I also love the subtle studs, they aren't overpowering.

My go to. Nothing makes you feel like you can take on the world quite like a Yves Saint Laurent blazer. I dressed it down with my favorite Citizens of Humanity boyfriend jeans (that I'm always wearing around the house), and my trusty Isabel Marant ankle boots.

As I mentioned in the previous post... a good t-shirt, good jeans, & ankle boots are my basics. The corner stones of my wardrobe. I would also like to add my lived in leather jacket. Thank you again to Truly Madly Deeply for sending me a few tops to play around with. I layered this grey crew neck tee with my favorite leather jacket and blanket scarf. I can't get enough of these Citizens of Humanity Rocket High Rise jeans. They are the most flattering jeans that I own. I found these Kurt Geiger boots browsing Brown Thomas while I was in Dublin. I knew that they had to come home with me.

I think my style lies somewhere between minimalist and maximalist. Introvert and Extrovert. I am simultaneously drawn to basic and bold. Stark whiteness and melodic patterns. Clean lines and brocaded velvets... but this post is about basics.

I want to do a few posts dedicated to basics. Truly Madly Deeply was so kind to send me a few t-shirts to style so this is the first one that I want to feature. The white t-shirt. Is there anything more perfect yet elusive? I search high and low for the perfect cut, the perfect white, the perfect drape. I have a drawer dedicated to the white t-shirt. It's an eternal love affair.

Along with the white t-shirt I also appreciate a good pair of high waist jeans, black leather boots, and a sturdy well cut coat. I hoard black leather boots. I can't help it.

I'm currently avoiding finishing packing for a trip to California tomorrow. By the time this posts I'll already be there. I've decided not to take my computer for many reasons and to wait and post about the trip when I return home. If anyone has any suggestions for Napa Valley or San Francisco please send them my way. I'll be posting to my Instagram throughout my trip though!

One of my favorite items to get at a thrift store is 100% silk blouses. I don't think I ever leave a thrift store without one. I found this one a few weeks ago and I love it. Everything I'm wearing is vintage except for my jeans and shoes.

How amazing is this poncho from Free People? I love the way it drapes. And it kind of makes me feel like I'm wearing a cape...which is a good thing. People need to wear more capes. When I bought it I immediately thought about styling it with heels.

P.S. These are hands down the most flattering jeans I own.

The title comes from The War On Drugs song from their album Lost In The Dream. I got to see them last night and I was blown away. I will never forget it or how the opening of Under the Pressure made me feel. Go listen.

A few snapshots from the past few days. I'm wearing a leather jacket from the markets in Florence, a Truly Madly Deeply Tee, & my favorite Citizens of Humanity Rocket jeans. We had a family get together on Sunday and I tried this DuMOL Pinot Noir. I definitely recommend it. I have a thing for orange roses and black lace bras. This bra is from Free People. I love the criss cross detail in the back.
